The conversation also explored how global military budgets could be redirected toward education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Speaking to the moral and political urgency of disarmament, Dr. Hughes emphasized:
“We cannot afford to normalize the existence of nuclear weapons. Every day they exist, the risk of catastrophe grows.”
