Save the date for the 21st Frank K. Kelly Lecture on Humanity’s Future on Tuesday, April 7, at 6 p.m. at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara. This year’s lecture will be delivered by Professor Richard Falk, who will address the legal, moral, and political challenges shaping humanity’s future in an age of conflict, nuclear weapons, and global instability.
Professor Richard Falk is Albert G. Milbank Professor Emeritus of International Law and Practice at Princeton University, where he taught for forty years. He is a leading scholar of international law and international relations and has served as United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories.
Falk is the author or editor of more than 75 books, including This Endangered Planet, which in 2022 was named one of six books essential to understanding the upcoming century by the Council on Foreign Relations; his autobiography Public Intellectual: The Life of a Citizen Pilgrim; Power Shift; Achieving Human Rights; The Great Terror War; Revisiting the Vietnam War; and his latest book Liberating the United Nations. His work has shaped global debates on nuclear abolition, human rights, and world order, and he continues to write and speak internationally on the ethical responsibilities of global citizenship.
